Let's talk about feelings for a sec. I will have frustrations and fears throughout this project, and I'm going to talk about them. On purpose.

In the last post, I talked about access as a barrier to transitioning into tech fields, but that's not the only factor. It's pretty easy to get intimidated or discouraged when you're learning new hard things all the time. It's worse to feel like it's just you - you are the ONLY PERSON EVER to feel that - and this is what happens when we all act like we're not feeling. That feeling? Enough of that feeling can make a person think they can't succeed.

Some folks get uncomfortable reading/hearing about other people's feelings. If this is you, I encourage you to just go ahead and be uncomfortable, and keep reading.

Some folks think it shows weakness to talk about fears and struggles. If this is you, well, you're just flat wrong about that. It's very much the opposite.

Hard feelings are what you get when you do hard things. Doing hard things is badass. Ergo, hard feelings are for badasses.
